SILVERPARK with Retro-Art-Cover from Metzenmacher.
SILVERPARK - The Munich musician Claus Lehner and Evert van der Wal release their first album, entitled 'Time Whisper'. Beginning of 2014, I received a request from Claus, if I could imagine to make an album cover for this project that would reflect in form and content the spirit of the album. He was just right with me. At a studio visit, we discussed our thoughts and finally I created in typical retro-art-style, a subject of content inspired by the lyrics and music for the first single 'Time Whisper'. The original painting today hangs in Munich. What a charming symbiosis of art and music.
The percussionist Evert van der Wal and the architect Claus Lehner meet for the first time in 2011 in Munich - Evert looks back on a long and successful musical career in which he played and stood on the stage together with 'Eric Burdon'/USA (TV jobs as well), 'Hubert von Goisern'/Germany (Tour) and 'La Bionda'. Claus played in a cover band in Stuttgart in the 80th as a singer and guitarist, and has then at least for now put his plans on hold due to stage of study and career.
Both share a passion for the music of Pink Floyd, Leonard Cohen and Daniel Lanois. They decided to join an experiment for a music project. In a studio in Munich in almost three years, the songs of the album 'Time Whisper' arises. The music is a reminiscent of the 70's the singer/songwriter scene in America with long acoustic guitar part and stylish, technically mature arrangements. Due to these analog recording technique retro sound is intensified. For the album the Canadian guitarmaker Boucher with their legendary Adirondack spruce tops and the legendary Gibson J 45 were used in the studio.
The lyrics play a crucial role in SILVERPARK. The music serves as a medium for the description of topics such as transience of time, looking for your own way or own closeness to nature. The subconscious of the listener antennas are to be achieved through the chilly, meditative sound.
