The story:
With the car and its python-look, “Python Poser” has a direct and dynamic impact on the viewer. It is only possible to recognise the Porsche from the shape of the wing mirror. The symbolism of the snake skin offers a stark contrast to the racy sports car from Zuffenhausen/Germany. Porsches. They are cars with a very definite image. An image that is sporty first and foremost. For me, Porsche drivers send out the following message: “I’ve made it and I’m still out for adventure!” However my own observations point to another truth:
Porsche drivers are men who wish to document their own success. Usually aged between 40 and 50 years old, they love to play the hero once more and to demonstrate what they can still do. But they are not true heroes. If they were, they would not buy a car which can always be relied upon. In reality they are not looking for real adventure, they just wish to project that image!

Those are my own feelings anyway. Of course I know that with this evaluation I am doing many Porsche owners an injustice as they love motor sports. In order to make this quandary clear, my Porsche also wears a second skin namely that of a python.
Pythons live mainly in Indonesia and in south Indian areas. If anything, they symbolise the jungle and natural vegetation.
Therefore my python poser sneaks up on you, rather than appearing with a great roar and bluster. Ultimately the (Porsche) driver behaves as if he were a real lad. He has even run over a defenceless container and thereby demonstrated his would-be strength to it. |
