The story:
The Grand Snail I is a fossilized snail shell with many corners and a form of tail. This unusual form really inspired me. It led me to the idea of portraying the "hard side" of a woman, specifically the "edges and corners". At the same time, I also wanted to reveal a relationship to real existing snails.
I painted this grand model as if it were a small spaceship that had just landed on the beach.
